We heard the first single "Captured" by young Brisbane artist and producer, Olivia McCarthy (JOY.), and were immediately enamored with her commanding voice and dreamy production. Now, putting their unique spin on the single is fellow emerging Brisbane act, Scholar. Following from the success of their impressive debut track, "Skin", Scholar injects JOY.'s original with their infectious groove, sonically transporting the song from slow-jam territory to somewhere more reminiscent of a dance floor. It's a fantastic sonic transplantation—an entirely worthy demonstration of their production prowess to whet our appetite as we wait for more original material due out later this year—and if, after listening in here, the wait is too much, rejoice that Scholar has offered the remix as a free download available now from their Facebook page.
