We were elated to have come across JOY. over a year ago when her stunning first work, "Captured", came out. It was one of the more intimate and chill tracks we had heard in a long time, and, correctly, we had assumed, it would lead to many other fantastic works from the young but talented artist. Today, after a six-month absence of original work, she's back, and she's the first work from her debut EP, Ode, that she's now sharing with us. "About Us", the title of the fresh new track, picks up right where JOY. left off as far as her sentimental themes, icy production, and airy tone goes, and the fact that she controls all aspects of it allows her sound to remain whole throughout. You can certainly hear her sonic formula upping itself every time she's put a new work out, and, as that's the case, "About Us" serves as another super solid and progressive entry into the growing catalog of sound she has. On top of that, it's an excellent reason why her release date of August 28 for Ode can't come soon enough. We're ready for more JOY. already.
