If you haven't heard the original version of Josef Salvat's "Every Night", then go listen right now, because not only is it a fantastic song that should be enjoyed by all at least once, but it will also give you a better appreciation for the magic that VIMES worked on his remix of the track. Salvat did a great job putting together the original, with all its pent-up power and brooding darkness needed to keep up with his soulful lyrics; and when you hear it all woven together for the first time, you cant help but be impressed. VIMES, on the other hand, has gone in a completely different direction with the remix, but the end result is no less impactful than the original one. Rather than amping up Josef's menacing sound, they've done a 180 and put together a rework that's extremely upbeat melody-driven. The intro is light and laden with poppy synths, and when the lyrics come in, they're juxtaposed over a much faster-paced beat than in the original. It's tasteful remixes like this that give songs a much deserved second life, and if there was a track that deserved such special treatment, Salvat's "Every Night" would be it. VIMES has lived up to their already solid reputation as well-loved producers, and this song only further solidifies each artist's membership in the ranks of musicians who are on the verge of becoming much popular than they already are. If you were a fan of the original and wanted to enjoy it in a different context, then this remix is for you. You probably didn't see this particular sound coming, but with one listen, you'll be unable to imagine why it hasn't been done before.
