Each day, you'll find the majority of musical acts posted on Hillydilly to be either completely or fairly new, and though these newcomers will often possess an innovative edge, there's an inimitable wisdom and sound that accompanies years of musical experience. As of late, one artist that has been brilliantly depicting the benefits of musical experience is Swedish folk artist José González. He's been pumping out music with his band, Junip, since 2000 and his first solo album was released just a few years after that, but now, González is back with possibly his biggest project yet: a brand-new solo album titled Vestiges & Claws. To put it simply, Vesiges & Claws is an exemplary work of gorgeous and mellow acoustic-folk music. González rarely makes use of much more than his guitar and some stripped-down percussion, but still, each song feels like a fresh new journey, partly because of his meditative lyrics within. On "Open Book", he dives into universal questions about his very own existence and the importance of relationships, and truthfully, each song is a ruminative odyssey that you could spend hours upon hours reflecting on and discussing.
