Jon Waltz is a Memphis-based artist who began his career as a promising young rapper and has since morphed into a versatile vocalist as well, and it is these vocals that carry "Riot", a song of his which premiered on Beats 1 Radio with Zane Lowe earlier today. "Riot" begins with a rolling, Blonde-esque intro and builds on it with multiple invigorating moments. Ironically, Waltz's 20 seconds of rapping around the two-minute mark provide a high point for the track, but this moment only opens up due to the vocals around it. As a whole, "Riot" is a fiery testament to the inherent rebellion of self-discovery and a call to arms for all millennial artists. [via The FADER]
