Jon Bellion — Ooh ft. Christianne Jensen

Jon Bellion

Ooh ft. Christianne Jensen

Jon Bellion's a man of many musical talents, and his recently released album, The Definition, is rife with artistic appeal. With that said, it's a somewhat polarizing kind we're talking about, as it can be excruciatingly poppy in some spots, and universally sweet and sonically pleasing in others. It takes time to ease into as bold of efforts as those existing on the work, and after some time, we've come to the conclusion that two tracks in particular stand out on the body of work: the Christianne Jensen-featuring "Ooh", and "Human". Marked by Bellion's unique, forward-thinking production style and unusual song structure, the first track, "Ooh", is a compelling piece of pop. "Human", while itself captivating, is more mixed with its tone, fluctuating between a relaxed state and an upbeat nature—but the important thing to recognize is the artistry in each. As one of the co-writers behind Rihanna's smash hit, "Monster", Bellion definitely has a handle on writing well-crafted pop tunes, and these two tracks highlighted here showcase his abilities to a tee. With his radio-ready style and Adam Levine-esque vocals (don't get us wrong, Jon's still his own undeniable style), expect to be hearing a lot more from the man going forward. He's always a project up his sleeve, and his team of hard-working and ever-creative individuals will make sure that boundaries are crossed and artistic envelopes are pushed to their limits.
