Joey Bada$

Hazeus View

Back in June 2012, a 17-year-old, fairly underground rapper named Joey Bada$ released his debut mixtape, 1999, which immediately put the entire hip-hop world in a frenzy. For most people, it was a total shock to hear old-school hip-hop revived by a kid who wasn't even legal yet, and alongside his Pro Era crew, Joey was catapulted instantly into the spotlight—releasing some great songs and another full mixtape, Summer Knights, ever since. Joey's received praise for his brilliant lyrics, his raw flow, and the throwback production behind him, so within the hip-hop community, there's been massive anticipation for his debut album. Now, to the great joy of many, B4.DA.$ is finally seeing the light of day, and today we're bringing you our favorite cuts from the body of work. Our first highlighted track, "Paper Trail

quot;, is the third track on the album and a prime example of Joey's ingenious lyricism and seamless style. He spits a heated verse for about a minute and a half, and from there, DJ Premier cuts up Joey's lines with extreme deftness. Our next pick, "Hazeus View", consists of Joey dropping undeniably raw verses over a laid back hip-hop beat produced by fellow Pro Era member, Kirk Knight, and we enjoy the effort just about equally as much. Suffice it to say that if you're a Joey Bada$ fanatic, you're surely going to love the entire album of his here, so if you want to download it in entirety or grab a few select tracks on top of the one's we've here provided, do so on iTunes today.
