A twanging guitar and a lonely soulful voice pull you into "Death Row", Jimi Charles Moody's newest offering, and keep you there. What starts out sounding like a song that should be accompanying a panoramic video of a cowboy wandering through the Wild West quickly escalates into a much more powerful place, and punctual percussion helps usher in that change. Fans of King Krule will likely enjoy the overall ambiance of the new track, and it'll be interesting to see if Jimi, himself, keeps up the unusual sound on his debut Islington EP.
