"Blue Honey" is a slice of audio nostalgia, and Jimi Charles Moody will tug at your heartstrings even if you were born after Y2K. There's something truly timeless about a good voice, some stellar songwriting, and a tasteful amount of organ, and when it's all pinned together with Jimi's seemingly boundless talent for crafting music, coverage here is a no-brainer. There's a scant amount in the way of an online presence for this artist at the moment, but it's rather fitting considering how easily the vintage sounds in his track will propel you back in time as each section of his single here melts into the next. All of this is not to say that Jimi isn't innovating, however. He's still got a ton of tricks up his sleeve when it comes to the composition, and there's zero risk of the song being too underwhelming once the chorus comes in. This guy has a seriously impressive voice, and since we're primarily concerned about quality of music here, then this one is an instant home run. Add "Blue Honey" to your favorite chill-out playlist for some variety, and sit back while Jimi takes on each note with a gravity that other artists can only hope to one day obtain.
