Thus far in her career, Marlene has defined herself through propulsive pop music on efforts like "Bon Voyage". She possesses all the qualities it takes to make it: a great voice, pop-sensible production, and mass-appeal in her songwriting. And although we took a pass on her last single, "Stay Awake", her newest track, "Love You Anyway", is impossible to ignore. The song (about female friendship) is co-written and co-produced with her Swedish counterpart, Ji Nilsson. It's not an uptempo track like her previous releases; rather, it's more calm and relaxing, focusing on the vocals and atmosphere rather than the pure pop sound. It's a new look, but at the same time, it's the kind of look that suits both of these artists very well.
