Jez Dior — The Line (prod. by Wes Period)

Jez Dior

The Line (prod. by Wes Period)

Jez Dior has always been an artist with a sound that was fiercely independent, yet still managed to pay homage to the greats that paved the way for his new breed of sound. His new track, "The Line", is the perfect marriage of old, new, and just plain different-sounding, and his efforts at breaking up the sonic landscape his peers have worked so hard cultivating are not lost on us. The track has a lot of the same elements that his Funeral EP had, but there's something just a bit more experimental about this one. It's effortless in its delivery, and it's obvious Jez is really in his element as the beat ebbs and flows between the foreground and background. A lot of credit for this winning dynamic has to be given to up-and-comer Wes Period, who was credited with the production work. He's yet to really hit it big with a single of his own, but there's no ignoring his talent, and the way he weaves the muted thumping and buzzing between Jez's storytelling is pretty darn impressive. The latter has surely found a lot of success after the release of his EP, and this track is only going to add to the momentum both artists are now collecting.
