Reggae often comes nostalgically to us, but every so often we stumble upon a track or two that is more than Rasta-inspired. Californian indie-rapper, Jetpack Jones, turns the clock back with this here effort of his as his sole verse is delivered emphatically and alongside the aid of Brock Berrigan, who takes control of the beat. The track takes on the mellowest of vibes with fantastic instrumentation from vintage reggae pieces, implementation of some deftly sampled cuts, and a chorus that is incredibly catchy. “Stoner Hill” couldn’t have been more timely in its release, either, with recent outpourings of electronic and R&B, among other genres.
