You wouldn't tend to associate Jeremih’s primitive work with any beatmakers at present, but familiar name WLYN has eliminated any kind of skepticism on his latest remix of the six-year-old, overplayed, and bittersweet number, “Break Up To Make Up”. You might question the song choice at first (and we wouldn't blame you for doing so), but the Montreal-based producer has craftily recycled the piece, adding his indigenous touch throughout while giving some credence to Jeremih’s adept vocal skills and the innovation of the original instrumentation itself. With an identical onset to its predecessor, WYLN's frolic piece gets going in a slightly different fashion a little later on, as he employs echoing cuts, percussive additions, and speedy hats to help in its inflation and turn in an engendering, somewhat jaunty feel. Jeremih’s lackluster lyricism is easy to disregard, too, particularly due to the cheerful tone at which it's executed, as well as the sheer quality of the well-thought-of beat—comprised of spacey chords, tropical synths, and a handful of astutely carved sounds. The piece in itself is overly engrossing after a couple of listens, and if the original was dear to you in any sort of way, this rendition would be a more than ideal reason to turn the clock back once more.
