If executed correctly, a song with a bright electronic melody alongside some grandiose female vocals can hit a sound that's absolutely captivating, and that's exactly what we have here with "Lightweight". Both Jason Burns and Sarah Winters have appeared on Hillydilly before, the former for a remix of his own track, "Back 2 You", and the latter for her rendition of Kendrick Lamar's "Swimming Pools", but we definitely wouldn't have expected a collaboration between the two to turn out so solidly. Burns meticulously crafts a constantly varying, brightly glowing instrumental consisting of shimmering electronic, deep synths, and fresh percussion. The transitions are smooth and dreamy, the synths constantly are expanding and contracting, and echoed vocal bits fly across the sonic atmosphere like shooting stars. "Lightweight" has so many continuously varying electronic layers that it creates an extraordinarily euphoric sound, and this is definitely credited to Burns' productional prowess. That said, Sarah Winters' phenomenal vocals glue the piece together, as she fluctuates between a low croon and a high-pitched call, and if the kind of lofty electronic-pop of late is a sound you've been after, you'll be absolutely hooked on the effort Winters and Burns have here put together.
