Yeah, you can describe some songs as "dreamy" because they sound a bit airy or light, but it really doesn't get any dreamier than Japanese Wallpaper's newest release. The guy's not out of high school yet, but already, he's mastered a style that usually takes many years to perfect. "Waves" is the type of song that you can simply get lost within, and you'd be best to allow it to gently carry you through its bright reverie of ambient synths and radiant electronic melodies. Pepa Knight's echoed vocals float about the sonic atmosphere, also, adding to the infectious depth of the track, and ethereal percussion and smooth bass lie jointly beneath the song's surface. It provides for an incredibly dreamy ambiance, and, among the enormous mass of monotonous electronic chillwave, Japanese Wallpaper has managed to construct an offering that significantly stands out from the rest.
