Sango's name has become synonymous with quality sound for some time now, and every time we see his imprint on a track, whether an original production, remix, or something else, we know we're going to get something special. His latest work, a remix of Janelle Monáe's "What Is Love", continues the trend, and frankly, we're not surprised to be singing his praises this umpteenth time. As per usual, the Grand Rapids-native makes keen use of the existing vocals, leaving them relatively untouched here, and for good reason) Janelle's voice really shines through the percussion Sango wraps around it, and the modest bass added gives a nice, weighty feel to overall effort. It's a silky sound that emerges as a result, dabbling in intimacy while retaining much emotional composure, and, aside from providing a pleasurable listen, it serves as another excellent effort to throw into the incredible canon of that is the Soulection producer's sound.
