James Chatburn and Jordan Rakei have both been pushing a new style of soul music, and today, they've provided us with quite the unique collaborative piece. We're familiar with the latter artist from his collaborations with FKJ and YesYou as well as a few of his great singles, but as for James Chatburn, he's a fairly new name to us, albeit, one making a fantastic first impression here with "Holiday Love". Dreamy synths and warmly layered vocals introduce the two's track, but the sound quickly breaks off into a verse that blends smooth soul elements with heavy bass and percussion. The mix is quite an unorthodox one, and though it might be a bit striking at first, you'll really begin to appreciate the sounds after a few listens. Also, James Chatburn has a new EP that will be dropping in the near future, so allow this track to serve as a taste of sorts as to what we can expect from him later on.
