JAHKOY is really starting to make a name for himself. The Toronto-based R&B and hip-hop and artist made his presence felt on the HD pages with a remixed cut of his work (C. Justice's remix of "Downtown II") a couple weeks ago, and yesterday, he came out strong with a new track, "Poison", that sees Justice again pulling the sonic strings, this time alongside another familiar HD name, Fortune. Don't get things twisted, though, this is JAHKOY's show, and his careful, very cool blend of the aforementioned genres sets moods ranging from intimate, to "dope", and everything in between. The singing is sensuous, the rapping rides, and the beat carries its own confident aura, but together, they form the formidably engaging track that is "Poison", and that's all that matters at the end of the day.
