As avid, relentless listeners of all music, we stay on top of pretty much everything we can. From new artists to existing artists, old material to fresh, and all things between, we try to be aware of all that's going on. Often (and unfortunately), the material we graze isn't up to our standards, and thus, is unable to make it on the site (and ultimately [importantly] to you guys), but that doesn't mean that we stop following acts as they progress and release new music. After all, quality takes time. JAHKOY, a rising R&B and hip-hop artist from Toronto, is one we've covered only a few times despite him releasing a bunch of material since we last featured him over a year ago. However, with "Hold You Hand", his latest track, the singer-songwriter and producer has just knocked himself into a completely different league that we've previously not heard from him before. This new single is clearly a hit; it's purposeful, not messing about, and a certified dance anthem. It's not like we haven't been impressed by the artist before, mind you, but this new joint has JAHKOY positioned officially in a new and formidable light. Let's hope there's more of this kind of stuff to come.
