We hopped on the bulleting train of Jacob Banks' a few months back when we heard his feature on Uppermost’s “Blame It On Love”, and, with the few anticipatory singles that followed, we’d gained great excitement for his sophomore EP, The Paradox. Today, we’ve finally a chance to wrap ourselves around the compilation, and, as expected, we've some fresh cuts of soul to enjoy. “Monster” and “Grace”, the singles that we’ve already highlighted, boast a sound that throws the EP into a John Legend-esque sphere, and, now, they're backed by others that lift us up and tear us down alike. Whether with the retro-sounding “You Don’t Even Call Me”, or the inspiring “Sink or Swim,” Banks has brought a '60s feel to the modern music realm while forging a sound that’s certain to impress.
