Before you dive into Jack Grace's first-ever solo effort, take a moment to mentally prepare yourself, because this track walks the fine line between flat-out weirdness and extraordinary creativity. After a few careful listens, however, we've decided that the artist has successfully created a work of great musical and imaginative value here. "Hills" breaks every rule in the book when it comes to structure and easy listenability, but that fact makes us adore it even more. At its own discretion, the song weaves through dark moments of gloomy keys and heavy bass hits, sanguine bits of gentle synths, and heart-warming segments of female vocals that are coupled with optimistic piano chords. It's a lot of elements to be accounted for, for sure, but it all weaves together intriguingly to make for a listen that's hard to ignore. It turns out that Jack Grace has contributed to BUOY's debut track, "Took Me Up", and he's also played a show in Sydney as well, so after coming across that information, we're now positive that Grace has more sounds in store for us. First, however, we're trying to take in his first track that you can now stream below.
