Although Jack Garratt only has a couple one-off singles and an EP to his name, he's already securely established himself as an artistic powerhouse. With his hands deep in what moody electronic niche he's created for himself, too, he's been able to craft a sound swaying effortlessly from soft, piano-driven melodies,to hard-hitting electronic beats, from soaring falsetto to commanding vocals, and from dark and brooding to absolutely club-banging. Jack's latest effort, "Chemical", is no exception to any of that above. With the single's visual companion here, we see the work starts out rather unassumingly but soon morph into a different beast entirely. From the handclap-assisted verses to the synth-heavy chorus, the video takes us on a journey of young love, following a teenage girl playing out her boy-band fantasy of falling in love with her favourite musician. Just as quickly as the verses crash into the thumping chorus, the girl's bedroom is transformed into a nightclub where she's soon locked in her lover's embrace.
