For those who don't know, J.I.D is an East Atlanta-born lyricist signed to J. Cole's Dreamville label. "Hasta Luego" is his first single following his recent, critically acclaimed album, The Never Story (listen HERE), and, as it's a good one, we're featuring it here (and hoping for more soon). Like Kendrick Lamar back in 2011, J.I.D is gradually becoming a mainstream representative of "real" hip-hop, and he is doing so by doubling down on what initially drew so many people to the world's most popular genre: the lyrics.
