J-Felix's "Free Your Spirit" sits inconspicuously as track number twenty on Volume Two of the Fragments compilation album. Don't let that fool you, though. This song can hang with the best of 'em, and the reworked chords running through melody sound like J-Felix ran Broken Bells' "The High Road" through a shredder and then reassembled its organ synths into a choppy, mellow, hip-hop-esque beat. No one element of the song overpowers another, and with everything so well balanced, the track slides right into the background of your consciousness, letting you absorb the music on a much more visceral level.
