J. Cole has been a well documented story of going from getting the attention of Jay-Z, to getting signed to Roc Nation, to headlining his own tour with no major album release. The hype is plentiful and is enough to sell tickets across the States and Canada. That alone is a very impressive resume for someone who has yet to show us how good he can be on a full length LP. His debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story, is mostly produced by J. Cole with a few tracks featuring production from No. ID, Brian Kidd, The University and L & X music. Tracks like "Rise And Shine", "Lights Please" "Can't Get Enough" and "Nobody's Perfect" showcase J. Cole's obvious talent behind the production. Cole's rapping subject matter sticks to topics of relationships, sex, sports, girls, rapping about rapping, etc.. His flow does switch up through each song however and sometimes through each verse, it keeps it somewhat interesting. Cole World: The Sideline Story will drop on Sept. 27th and you can decide for yourself if J.Cole is worth the hype. Regardless of your thoughts on this album J. Cole is a talented artist and is someone definitely to always look forward to listening to.
