Hillydilly started following Island Fox's musical exploits near the end of last year, and interestingly enough, it was completely by chance. Their breakout song, "Things I've Seen", had been out for a while by the time we unearthed it, but it was just too good to pass up, and the quality of the music made it feel like we had just found a wad of cash in the parking lot. The first time we heard the track, we were a bit confused by the quiet intro and ambient textures, but when Jessica Bartlett (the vocals behind Island Fox) started to sing, and the sharp stabs of synthesized sound shot their way through our speakers, we were blown away. Fast-forward to today, and we're now greeted with a third fantastic release from Jessica (who's now taken sole artistic control of the act). Just like its two predecessors, this new single titled "Come With Me" is as moving and subtle as any other electronic track out there. Despite the fact that there's no longer that extra added element of surprise that "Things I've Seen" had (we've since come to expect great things from Island Fox), this new single, "Come With Me" is definitely just as good, and maybe even a little better. There aren't enough artists out there with great voices who are willing to take risk on experimental production work, but when Island Fox does, it's always a home run. After 'Things I've Seen" caught its second wind, Island Fox went dark for a while, but this new crop of music is the perfect way to get reacquainted with her work, and will dispel any worries that her first success would also be her last.
