Imagined Herbal Flows is something of a veteran when it comes to mellowed electronic, and he's got us emphasizing the claim yet again on his latest piece, "Departure". We've featured Ben Gorvine (IHF) a couple times over the past year and a half, and though we feel he still deserves even more attention than he's currently received, there's no doubt he'll continue to soar if he continues putting out the kind of work that he has. "Departure" is a track that's brimming with electronic emotions, and while it's intricate in terms of its layers involved, Ben still manages to keep the surface exuberant and inviting, giving it a nature that's pretty instantly immersive. Eastern-infused synths, superb vocal cuts, and untiring drum sequences are at the forefront of the track, and, from start to end, it's quite tough to pull one's self away from it. As the first track from his upcoming album, this is about as good of a first foot forward as one can have.
