The title does most of the work here, and Huron John earns it. "Trapped In A Lava Lamp" is woozy and weightless, built on swirling synths and a vocal delivery that floats somewhere between detached and deeply felt. The Dublin-based artist has a knack for psychedelic pop that doesn't announce itself, it just pulls you under. One of the more quietly captivating things we've heard lately.
