HUNNY is a six-piece rock band hailing from Southern California, and their debut single, "Cry For Me", shows that the group is no ordinary rock outfit. According to their website, their sound is reminiscent of "80's post-punk" and draws on their "undying love" for Prince, and clearly, these are apt descriptions for the track. "Cry For Me" has a sun-soaked, classic aura around it, and the seeming absence of electronic production on the track gives it a very organic feel that is welcome in the sea of new electronic acts we're always seeming to come across. Vigorous and confident, "Cry For Me" is a very promising debut for this Californian act, so keep an eye and ear out for HUNNY going forward. Bands like theirs are hard to find!
