Singer-songwriter RY X has his hands in many projects. From his solo endeavours, to his work with The Acid, and now collaborating alongside German producer, Frank Wiedemann (who's also in Âme), on his Howling project, the Australian-born, LA-residing artist does keep one thing the same no matter what he does, and that's keeping his music within the experimental realm. We don't need to go venturing away from this post to show you any examples of how left-field most of RY X's music is, because as we find out on this cover of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", we have ourselves a cover of a classic that is not only off-kilter, but haunting, and something you would never expect to hear when it comes to refurbishing the '90s classic. If you're expecting this cover to be accessible, you're going to be in for a surprise, so rather than guess what it might entail, dive in openly and enjoy what genuine and pleasurable perplexities arise.
