Poet/rapper Solo & Adit (beats) aka Horrorshow are back after a 4 year hiatus with the release of their third full-length album, King Amongst Many. The album, entirely produced by Adit, boasts features from Grieves, Suffa of Hilltop Hoods, Urthboy, Jimblah, Muph & Sarah Corry. Even though its been 4 years since Horrorshow's 2009 sophomore effort, Inside Story, you don't get the sense this duo have become irrelevant. When you've released two prolific albums & consistently let your music speak for itself, there is no need to worry about people forgetting about your music. With Horrorshow it has always been about the musicality and the intricate raps; it's for this simple reason the duo have been able to maintain a mystique and credibility that few can maintain. Like any duo in music that find themselves balanced with individual talents, there's always going to be underlying motivation to not let the other person down. When you have two very talented artists and 4 years to perfect an album, it becomes a given the end result is going to be superb. With King Amongst Many, this is definitely the case as Solo & Adit have crafted up 15 tracks of eloquent, diverse and thought-provoking art. With the astute storytelling of Solo (who easily could of been a 15th century poet in his past life) and the vividly crisp production of Adit, King Amongst Many becomes more than just a hip-hop album, it's an experience.
