HONNE just doesn't know how to disappoint, do they? They've got ears and playing abilities like few others, and that fact has resulted in one impressive track after another for the past several months. There really hasn't been much not to enjoy about their sound, and, recently, we've been able to warm up especially to it again as we knew their next project, Over Lover, was near. Today, it's here. From the EP, we've already featured "Loves The Jobs You Hate" and the JONES-featured "No Place Like Home", and now we get the project's back two cuts to enjoy as well. "I Can Give You Heaven", the first of those two cuts, is a perfectly modernized bit of alternative soul-pop, and, with some fresh chords, utter lyrical sultriness, and an infectiously large chorus, we find ourselves engulfed by the effort as a whole. "Church Rave In Miami", the final cut, operates just as warmly as the previous, and its minimal instrumental to start (it gets nice and crazy by the song's end) combined with what piercing vocals we hear really do us in again. We wouldn't, of course, expect anything less from these incredibly talented music-making men, but Over Lover just reinforces all it is that we and many others love so much about them.
