Hockey - surprisingly not from Canada, but from Oregon/California - bring us their first single, entitled "Love Is Strange" from their upcoming album. Whereas hockey, the game, is characterized by grit, force, grisliness, and roughness, Hockey's music brings a lighthearted elegance that skips and shuffles joyously through spirited fluttering rhythms and riffs. I don't imagine this will ever be a hockey player's pre-game song as it makes you want to dance rather than fight, make love rather than war, so I'm unsure of the intended association but it's a beautiful tune regardless.
