Yeah, we've heard the majority of the sounds in both tracks that we have featured here. We've heard the nasty bass bits, the excitedly included pieces of trap, and the vocals beneath the dazzling beats. We've even heard some combinations of these things. The way HERO, a yet-to-blow R&B artist from Calgary, has harnessed them all is incredibly appealing, however, and we couldn't care less what styles here he's borrowed from and created on his own. His tracks are good, and that's all that matters. With "She Will Always Let You Down", a demo track that he just released today, we're greeted instantly with a mesmerizing beat that might pull comparisons to GoldLink's "When I Die", and, though it takes a minute for his vocals to come through, we don't for that minute wonder why they don't come any earlier than that. HERO knows how to keep attention from beginning to end, and he seems to know how to do that at his own pace, too. "Promise", the other track that we're featuring here (and, incidentally, his first ever released) is just as captivating. It starts with a similar-sounding beat to "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe", but the pitch is changed and the ambiance is a bit more urgent. There's some snapping percussion involved with the effort, and the processed vocals that HERO injects work great with the twisty, downtempo trap fantasia that lines the track. These two tracks here that we have highlighted here show some enormous, enormous potential on the Canadian artist's behalf, and, hopefully with what buzz he can get from this post, he can catch the eyes and ears of some people who can help elevate his sound even more. He deserves to be played in a lot more places than just his home country, that's for sure.
