A remix of a cover. It's unorthodox, but it works. If your knee-jerk reaction after seeing the track title is to assume that the spirit of MGMT's original has been lost somewhere in the mix, then you're probably right. Don't worry though, because even though the original was a great track, groundbreaking even for its time, Kygo has created something no less beautiful. MGMT's "Electric Feel" was a loud, shrill, track with a weird vibe the likes of which only Benjamin and Andrew could have dreamed up. Then it was Henry Green's rendition, and things took a turn for a acoustic. The song grew up a bit, and the sound matured. Fast forward to Kygo's remix, and the quiet force of Henry Green's vocal work is on full display, but now it's wrapped up in some of the most soothing synth chords around. It's not totally apparent if the track is more somber then upbeat, but it is quite obvious that Kygo knows what a remix should sound like.
