We've seen (and heard) a serious amount of music surface lately from Melbourne, but very little of what we've come across has elicited an emotional response similar to the offerings Hayden Calnin presents. He has here "Cut Love," the title track from his upcoming debut album, and it packs a dreamy soundscape and warming vocals that remind us what musical aura we've grown accustomeded to in the past. Within the nearly eight-minute affair, we're provided a boundless representation of soul that's garnished with electronic in the most meticulous way. "Cut Love" melts together perfectly and holds us in our thoughts the whole way through, and, in the end, yields much excitement for the forthcoming LP. Cut Love Pt. 1 (the first half of his two-album release) will be appearing March 4, while the second part will come in early May.
