We first became aware of Haux (pronounced "hawks" [not "hoe"]), a project put together by eclectic creative mind Woodson Black, four months ago when he released "Homegrown". At the time, we came to the conclusion that Woodson was perhaps more more well known for his stunning photography posted on Instagram (it's seriously incredible; check out his account) than for his musical aspirations, but, with his debut work, we were forced to at least reconsider our own esteemed opinion of him. "Homegrown" reflected all the beauty captured in his shots, to be sure, but with the audio offering itself, we were afforded another layer of depth to the mind behind it all. Today, we get another glimpse into Woodson's artistic intent with "Caves", an equally serene, all-too-beautiful-for-words affair from the resident of New York. The track picks up right where the last left off in terms of its gorgeous demeanor, and, though more delicately paced than its predecessor, it still revs up in raw emotional intensity when it needs to do just that. We hear some wonderful female vocals pierce the effort again as we did on his first, and, in tandem with Woodson's own tone, lusciousness, ethereality, and pure sonic bliss ensue.
