Genre fusions are unquestionably at their pinnacle right now, with several acts employing more than a singular sonic approach to help bolster their sound, and it seems that New York-based duo HAUTE has initiated their own campaign of the sonic synergy with a slightly chilled, undeniably hip-hop beat-infused accompanied by enthralling female vocals. The duo’s inaugural gem taking the praise is called "Down", and it provokes a rather vivid atmosphere with Anna Magidson’s aforementioned tone squared away in the limelight, as well as the with the pair's production continually enhancing the stunning ambiance. Scintillating, evolving chords at the onset of the piece instantly engender an emotionally drenched environment, and they set a suitable platform for Anna’s untreated vocals—undeniably fervent and up to the brim with poignancy. The production of the piece is staggering in its entirety (you can probably tell by our amount of comments regarding it), and its bass-heavy notes slip in abruptly yet appropriately, with unexpected percussive elements garnishing the stirring vocals without a blemish. It's a lot of appealing music to take in, for sure, but it's certainly going to have our eyes and ears peeled for sugar-coated efforts like it in the future.
