It’s been less than a month since Shines dropped off his debut EP, and already, he’s already back to his brewing ways, refashioning a HΛNΛH original, “Hideaway”, while emitting his characteristic unwinding essence in the process. The original track is one that’s seething with a heavy soul influence and an astute electronic bedding, and with the vocals in the forefront, Shines has chosen the ideal piece to rework to his liking. A contemporary downtempo current forms the underbelly of the revamp, with a hovering structure containing vocal slices and gesture-inducing drum sequences. The vocals are gorgeously acknowledged also, with obvious shades from the original that include soft blues keys and a continually rising tenor. An unexpected outro portrays the savvy side of the Los Angeles-based producer's as he pulls the tempo back, and his letting the vocals and inclusions drone to the end makes for the culmination of another fine effort of his.
