Comparing this 19-year-old New Jersey-newcomer to Lauren Mayberry (of CHVRCHES) is going to be an obvious action to take, and will no doubt be the bait that reels in everyone to check out her music. Usually, items implementing the click-bait marketing technique ends up being crap, but that's far from the case with Halsey, whose shining & efferevesnt indie-pop salvo, "Ghost" is all you need to hear to begin believing otherwise. There's no doubt that we'll see some buzz coming off the back of this effort, so expect to see more of the vocalist in 2014.
