When you first hit play on Guy Burn's debut single, "Two", you're met with a highly recognizable production style. Droning, side-chained synths oscillate beneath bright instrumental samples and syncopated beats, and it's really not until Ivi (the Sydney-based vocalist who's featured on the song) comes in that we get a taste of the distinct flavor "Two" has to offer. Her dreamy, tranquil vocals glide smoothly over a crisp, snare-like percussion riff that sounds like it could be in the pre-chorus of a Jersey Club joint, and later on, we even hear wedding bells (Cashmere Cat, anyone?) at the back of the mix. Just as Ivi's exquisite vocals work wonders on this effort, though, Burns, too, should be commended for his adept and polished production. Nevertheless, "Two" is a solid debut from him, and based on the effort and all brought forth from it, we can be quite sure that we will be hearing more from him in the future.
