When it comes to fresh GRiZ material, the quality that we can expect to be put forth is rarely in doubt, as he's consistently devising ways to break through the cliched sounds of the electronic realm. We were reminded us of this with recent piece "Feelin' High" just about a week ago, and now we see the claim exemplified again on his latest project, Chasing The Golden Hour Pt. 1. The efforts from the body of work that we're taking most favorably to are the introductory and closing tracks (we get to experience neighboring beatmaker Russ Liquid on the first, and also GRiZ pretty much polishing the term "boom-bap soul" on the latter), and "It's Over" and "Sometimes The Truth Don't Rhyme" as well. The lengthy EP as a whole can be chalked up as a success for GRiZ, though, and you should come to find that out naturally enough by diving into all the efforts HERE after checking our highlights below.
