Rather than overhauling the entirety of the track’s structure, Lightwaves' remix of Great Good Fine Ok’s “Not Going Home” adds a serene, electronic derivative to the upbeat nature of the original. Repeated synth chords resound through the ears as they lay behind a cheerful vocals, and the combination of strung-out, yet precise vocals with the distorted synths yields an '80s feel that amplifies the aural pleasure even more. The reworking is topped off by exquisite work on the drums by Great Good Fine Ok’s Jon Sandler and Luke Moellman. There are hints that their remix here may gain a spot in the band’s upcoming EP (set to be released in the upcoming months), and we sure hope it does, because we really take a liking to this flavor of GGFO’s already meritorious work. Grab your '80 dance garb while you wait for the work's contents to be revealed, though, and hit the dance floor early and often with this song blasting off in the background.
