The Toronto based, Winnipeg raised hip-hop duo, Grand Analog are back off a 4 year hiatus, to follow up their 2009 sophomore album, Metropolis Is Burning, with their brand new album, Modern Thunder. Boasting in house production/instrumentation from, DJ Ofield, DJ Catalist (beats + keys), Warren Bray (bass), TJ Garcia (drums) and the heady raps of lead emcee, Odario, Grand Analog take it well past your average karaoke rap by incorporating a plethora of genres and supplying us with subject matter worthy of some brain cell engagement. If there ever was a Canadian version of The Roots, Grand Analog, would easily be the frontrunners. It's safe to say the buzz Grand Analog created from their first two albums has subsided a bit, but hopefully this can change when people get their ears on some of the standouts from Modern Thunder — most notably "The Great Rhyme Dropper" that features Canada's best emcee, Shad.
