We absolutely loved Gorgon City's original version of "Unmissable", so when we heard this Huxley remix, we were already sort of sold on the idea of it being cast in a new sonic light. With that said, we understood also that "Unmissable" is one of those tracks that could have easily been remixed into oblivion, which is what happens when all the initial twists and turns get smashed under layers and layers of new, sometimes inappropriate sound—turning what once was a fine standalone piece into something overwhelming or merely mediocre. Thankfully, Huxley's managed to avoid all the amateurish pitfalls by putting together a deep house take on the track, and instead of trying to squeeze in a ton of new elements, he's simply swapped out sections of the track for his own rhythms—pulling the best bits and pieces from Gorgon City's original to craft something truly unique. As every good remix should, it pays homage to the original in all the right ways, but it's also unmistakably Huxley-flavored, and we respect that a lot. Gorgon City has released a string of killer singles recently, and there have been a few great remixes to go along with the influx of new tracks, but this Huxley rendition is up there with the best of 'em, and it'll go a long way towards bolstering support for each artistic camp as they ramp up their touring and release schedules.
