In GRMM’s remix of Gorgon City and Laura Welsh’s “Here For You”, we see the Aussie producer take the path of slowing the track down rather than building on its original dance-inspired beat. Light synths are employed initially by GRMM, and their ability to take on Laura’s resounding vocals is something truly to be admired. When the hard-knocking bass kicks in a bit later, an underlying cluster of chords climb a musical ladder before bringing us back down (as we see the vocals continue their elegant ways). When listening to this stellar remix, don’t let your musical ADD get the better of you. Let it play all the way through, and you’ll be generously rewarded with an ever-strong second verse that performs as well as, if not better than, the relaxed tone of the first. The discovery of the whole effort prompted us to dive deeper into GRMM’s other works, and we were no less than stunned with the results. Tracks like the above one, as well as GRMM’s original “Electrify” leave us puzzled as to why we haven’t heard of Australia’s newest electronic talent before. Rest assured, he’s here now (at least, to us), so dive into all of his sonic goodness as you see fit.
