Australian singer-songwriter Sophie Payten (Gordi) sure has had an enviable time since the release of her Clever In Disguise EP last May. She’s predominantly filled this space with tours expanding the globe in support of Bon Iver and Tallest Man On Earth, honing her craft with the help of some of the greatest voices in modern indie-folk, and getting down to work on her debut album, Reservoir. With the release date of that album coming ever-closer, we now have a brand-new single in “On My Side”—one that reflects the positive influences Gordi has had surrounding her of late. Having already demonstrated a strong command of songwriting on her EP, this new single shows significant growth in the supporting elements of her composition.
