We took to Goldwash's first-ever track, "But U Won't", extremely well, and that's because he presented on it a jazzy, funky, irresistible sound we couldn't quite describe well but knew we loved. It simultaneously made us want to dance and listen in awe, and, apparently, we weren't alone, because over 80,000 others shared the experience as well. Today, however, the 21-year-old composer, singer-songwriter, and producer out of Baltimore is unveiling his second-ever track, and we're happy to report that it's every bit as good as his first was nearly three weeks ago. With "Malady", Gabe Acheson's (Goldwash) latest track, we get more of a focused glance into his concerted singing voice, and, contrary to most producers trying to keep up that aspect of their sound, he actually makes his work. There's a tropically tinged, inventively funky, Mura Masa-like vibe attached to the production of the work as well, and it really complements his intonations as they brighten up. We'd say that, as a result of all this, "Malady" stands as a solid-as-they-come second effort from the up-and-comer, and we think that any more efforts like it will have labels hitting him up (this is, of course, assuming that's not already been done).
