It's been a little over a month since GoldLink shared his debut project, The God Complex, but he's no signs of slowing down. Like all artists looking to make a lasting impact with their work, GoldLink keeps his craft fresh, never letting us forget about him or his evolving artistry, and today, he's dropped off the Kaytranada-crafted "Sober Thoughts" to keep us fans content. It's a slightly lighter vibe on it than on previous works of the DMV-native's, due in large part to the singing that appears alongside his usual rapid flows, but we'd be remiss to say it's at all out of place on the effort. Kaytranada's funky infusions help to seam the two tones together, and the groove he gives rise to will have you instantly on your feet if not already bobbing you head like a buoy in the Atlantic. More than anything, though, the collaboration keeps afloat GoldLink's uncanny artistic flavor, and if he's wishes to see it truly elevate in significance, we'll be seeing a lot more of the kind of producer partnerships here expressed.
