Gold Fields — Hold Me

Gold Fields

Hold Me

There are a few artists who really have the tropical house formula down (Kygo, Urban Contact, Felix Jaehn, etc.), and the Australian group Gold Fields definitely fits into this mix. They've been a favorite of ours for a few years now, and they frequented our speakers this past summer with their refreshing remix of Madi Diaz's "The Other Side". To sustain relevance, Gold Fields has been releasing remixes over the majority of this past year, and while we have no problem with that, they've pieced together an original here with "Hold Me" that might surpass even some of their best interpretive efforts. Gold Fields are masters of implementing smooth, dreamy synths with the perfect tone and velocity, and their prowess is blatantly obvious in their new single. Atop these synths is a sensual vocal loop, some grooving bass plucks, and an excess of celestial electronic, but beneath everything is a pumping house beat that isn't too harsh, nor too conservative, either. We love Gold Fields' distinct blend of house music because it possesses a certain alluring attribute many others can't produce; their music is ideal for most any happy occasion, whether it be just relaxing or getting a night going, and "Hold Me" exemplifies this with its easy enjoyability.
